This Is Real

It’s real.

A few big bad things have happened today. But I can’t complain.

Cuz the outcome is way better! And even more because through the exact way things worked for us, God’s hand is very clearly guiding the events.

Thank You Lord. I can rejoice.

Psalms 37:16 (NKJV) A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked

Psalms 37:1-40 (NKJV)
1 A Psalm of David. Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret–it only causes harm.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct.
15 Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the Lord upholds the righteous.
18 The Lord knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish; And the enemies of the Lord, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away.
21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
22 For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth, But those cursed by Him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore.
28 For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him.
33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the Lord, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a native green tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace.
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.

Mazmur 37:1-40 (AVB)
1 Jangan gusar kerana orang melakukan kejahatan dan jangan iri hati kepada orang yang melakukan kedurjanaan;
8 Jangan marah, jangan meradang; jangan gusar – segalanya cuma membawa mudarat.
12 Orang zalim menyusun rancangan menentang orang yang benar dan menggertakkan gigi terhadapnya;
16 Sedikit yang dimiliki oleh seorang yang benar lebih baik daripada kekayaan besar orang zalim;
21 Orang zalim meminjam lantas tidak membayar, tetapi orang yang benar menunjukkan belas kasihan lalu memberi;
23 Langkah seorang yang baik diperintahkan oleh TUHAN, dan Dia meredai jalan yang dilaluinya;
28 Kerana TUHAN kasih akan keadilan dan tidak akan meninggalkan umatnya yang warak. Mereka dipeliharakan selama-lamanya, tetapi keturunan orang zalim akan disingkiri;
32 Orang zalim memerhatikan orang yang benar; dan cuba membunuhnya;

Panic On The Dance Floor

Life is hard

Life is a challenge

I’ve been getting these panic attacks whenever I have to plan my day. Whenever I have to plan my week. When I have to be clear about the things I need to get done, and by when. And these panic attacks consume me. I think it’s affecting my health. I’m getting these backaches and headaches.

But when I look back, I have to be grateful. God has done so much. God has used me. God has blessed me even when I am unworthy. Even through the mistakes I’ve made and sins I committed.

Lord teach me to look forward and see you just like I look back and see you.

Cambodia Round Two Short Report

I learned a lot from this 5 day 4 night trip to Cambodia.  There was a camp in a village where 130 teens  and children (from 13 different villages) stayed for 2 nights. We taught the children and teens about Jesus and God’s truth about them. We were the overseas guest speakers in a way. Then after that was over, we had one afternoon to encourage the teachers and leaders that their ministry was an important one, and also to give some skills and tools to teach about Jesus to their students.

I may not be able to account too detailed about this trip, cuz too much has happened. But I’ll try to explain briefly the things that has impacted me or things I have learned.

Trust

We prepared the best that we could. Program. The word of God. Games. Song and dance. Stories. And even a drama (that we didn’t practice). It wasn’t perfect. I still had some things that I didn’t really have time to finalize. But I just prayed and trusted God to lead me. I did have a bit of time in Cambodia to do last minute preparation, but it still wasn’t enough and I really relied on Him. It was stressful but I believe God spoke and that all hearts were touched by Him. No lack of preparation or fear can stop God from moving if we really commit ourselves and commit what we can do to Him.

Hungry

The people of Cambodia are hungry. Hungry for the truth. Hungry for salvation.

One Man Can Make A Change

It’s amazing how one man who loves God and has God’s compassion and passion can change a whole village and it’s surrounding villages.

Stars

The night sky in the village looked so amazing. When all lights are off, the stars came out. We all know that. What I didn’t know is that the stars could come out anyway, as long as I block out the light. There was a long long moment one night when all Joey and I did was sit outside and stare upwards. But we had to use our hands to block out the lights from the village and the spotlight that was shining at the dancing crowd (yeah we had an outdoor disco for the teens and children at night).
It reminded me that we have to focus to see glory. We have to block out the distractions that are glaring right into our senses. And then just sit back and enjoy God’s glory.

Children

It’s been a long time since I really ministered to children. And two things about their heart that really reminded me about why Jesus asked us to be like children.

First of all, their willingness to learn. The saying ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ is kinda true. The older we get, the less we are able to remember. Children remember quickly and are so willing to learn. Also, there is very little pride in them. So, they don’t just pick and choose. They don’t take a lesson for granted.

Secondly, intimacy to the small details. Once, I had a group of about 30+ teens and children. They were each given a piece of a photo that was cut into rectangles. The instruction was to piece the puzzle pieces together to get the full picture. After they were done, I asked if they remembered their original puzzle piece. And they all did. If it was me, I would have forgotten the small detail and remembered the big picture, or the main point.

These are just a few things that I have learned on this journey. I’ll blog more next time.

If you have anymore questions for me about what we did or why, do feel free to message or comment.

Cheerio!

on saturday, i was putting the church van back to church.

but the problem was, i FORGOT to put the keys back in the office.

after i was done with music prac, the keys werent with me anymore.

so naturally i thought i was done with my responsibilities.

next day however, my pastor youth leader called me and asked where the keys were.

i was so shocked!

i drove back to church, and retraced my steps, called EVERYONE i came in contact with that saturday, and called my parents to search my house.

after a long time of searching everywhere.

the results were a fail.

i was so angry with myself.

i kept thinking and thinking and scratching my brains.

but to no avail.

i had no clue where i left them.

then later in the week,

my friend called me and told me she had found the keys in her handbag.

i did hang out with her on saturday after music practice.

but the weird thing was, i DID NOT give her my keys.

nor did she give me her handbag.

so how it got there?

i can only imagine that God conveniently put it there.

THANK YOU LORD.
