New Highlight Colour Category!

As of today I have about three categories of highlights for my bible reading.

First category is things I want to remember. Colours are pink, yellow, and cyan (esp if things get ‘interesting’).

Second category are the very important things I want to remember. Colours are light pink and light yellow. As you can probably imagine, these work well alongside my first category highlights, especially in a long passage with multiple verses. I will usually highlight the passage that I want to remember in pink, and then within the passage there would usually be one or two verses that are the key points or super important, I would highlight those light pink. So that there would be contrast.

Third category will be in grey for warnings I want to remember. Especially if they are directed at me.

So today I have created a new fourth category based on what I learned last week in online bible school. It’s a light green highlight for verses that are God’s ‘intended purpose for men’. We call it the Sabbath Rest… I think… I’m still learning haha. The Garden of Eden will be my imagery for this highlight category. God’s plan was no death, no sickness, and we live in true abundance, and connection to God. The three main points for the Sabbath Rest is peace with one another, peace with the earth, and peace with God. I’m thinking to keep it less for who God wants me to be today/tomorrow, and more for God’s ultimate goal for us in eternity. A very after-death (Real Life) kind of highlight. The purpose is to train myself to have a heavenly perspective.

Neverfall

 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Way Past Slipping

When I said, My foot slips; Your mercy, O Jehovah, held me up.

Psalm 94:18

Ever felt like you were on the edge of cliff? Maybe like a mountain path you had to walk. But a dangerous path. A few centimeters. A tiny draft. A sneeze. Have you ever felt like any little thing could push you off?

Have you ever felt like you were slipping? That’s a fully freaky feeling. This is when your adrenaline spikes. You’re suddenly painfully aware of everything. Especially aware of the dire situation. Which cause all subconscious alarm to start yelling DANGER DANGER DANGER. Then your heart explodes in fear.

However, ‘Slipping’ lasts as long as you can say it. Which is only half a second. Then, you’re falling. Falling, falling, falling…

I feel like I’m falling. I let my foot slip into this deep dark pool sin. I’m way past slipping, of course. I’ve fallen in. I’m  drowning. Drowning. Drowning. I’ve stopped calling out for help. I’ve stopped struggling. I’ve given in.

Now, reading this, I’m reminded to call to You, to be honest to You. So I call out to You again, Lord. My foot is not ‘slipping’. I’m falling. With an anchor tied to my feet. All is already black. Black where I’m falling. Black where I’ve fallen from. I’m really nothing. All I do is vain. I accomplish nothing. My future is more Blackness. My energy, time, efforts, a waste. Lord, there is nothing I can do. I’ve tried. Now, I’ve given up trying. Because I’m more of the problem than the blackness around me. I’m my anchor that’s drowning me.

I give up, Lord YHWH. Be the solution. Save me. Hold me up in your mercy. Let heaven come. Let heaven come. Your presence is heaven. I long for just a touch.

Just one touch.

Day 21 – Do you want children? Why or why not?

yes!!!

because kids are awesome!

i’ve always wanted kids.

its one of my SUREST desires of my life.

i only have a few ‘SUREST desires’ btw.

no seriously.

Day 22 – What subject did/do you exceed in/at school?

maths.

I kinda like to tell people i exceeded over those who exceeded.

but thats like bragging.

 

Day 23 – Are you a fan of art? If so, who is your favorite artist? What artistic movement do you prefer?

my fav artist is sort of an over-achiever.

he likes to over-do the awesome.

he’s still creating art as we speak.

everyday its different.

like where does he get the time?

omg i need to learn his persistence and patience.

and he takes all his work very seriously.

everyday the clouds look different at every time of the day.

everyday the breeze will blow differently to make the trees move to a different dance style.

everyday the living beings grow in ways we shall never understand.

i can never understand God and His work.

but i can be amazed.

 

Day 24 – How attractive do you consider yourself?

depends on how i smell that day.

if i smell good. im agonizingly attractive.

thats like 43 out of 10 on the attractiveness scale.

other than that, i’d be 10 out of 10.

*shrugs*

you know.

im not trying to be modest or anything.

 

Day 25 – Would you rather date someone plain with an amazing personality or someone beautiful with a plain personality?

plain as in looks?

or plain as in personality?

i’ve dated lots of people in my life.

most of them look very much like males.

does that mean i like dating people with amazing looks?

or does that mean i like dating people with amazing personality?

 

Day 26 – Choose two: mentally stable, intelligent, attractive. Explain why you chose those two.

i’d say mentally stable and mentally intelligent is the same thing.

mentally attractive is another.

yet.

being mentally stable and intelligent makes that person mentally attractive.

no wait.

i take that back.

i think EVERYONE who does not have bad intention or lousy character is mentally attractive.

if you are evil, you are unattractive.

in a sense.

no wait.

i take that back.

we are all evil. not even the most holy person i know dares say he’s not evil.

so is EVERYONE mentally unattractive?

i’ve found people who are definitely mentally attractive.

even those who are down-syndromed or autistic.

so there ARE people out there who are mentally attractive to me.

not necessarily mentally stable or mentally intelligent ones tho (see how dumb that sounds?).

is this some sort of trick question?

 

Day 27 – Which do you prefer: films or television? Why?

waiiiiiiiit a minute.

dont tell me this is ANOTHER trick question.

very sneaky.

 

Day 28 – If you could choose to live forever, would you? Why or why not?

i would like to live a long long time.

but not forever.

because i want to get to heaven.

i bet its more exciting.

what do you think heaven is like?

do you think it has enough coffee shops?

 

Day 29 – Do you wish for anything at 11:11? If so, what do you wish for? Has anything ever come true?

i googled what wishing on 11:11 meant.

and i still dont get it.

i HAVE wished for things before.

and i have PRAYED for things before too.

weird thing is, God knows the words of our mouths even before we speak it.

He also knows the desires of our hearts before we pray for it.

so many times i receive things i havent prayed for but hoped for too.

He’s just awesome that way.

 

Day 30 – What do you imagine your life like at age fifty?

MORE exciting than now.

 

 

 

Sex

So we had a teen forum about sex.

It was separated by gender though. Boys in one room and girls in the other.

Very interesting questions. Eye opening answers.

Questions by the participants will be italicized. Participants in this case are all teenage boys. Answers are not by me, but by married men. I wrote them down. =)

And now I will share it (take note that some of the answers and questions have been altered to be more specific or understandable by readers).

Let us begin.

Why sex?

– Sex is God’s command. It is mentioned in the first chapter of the first book in the bible.

If we have already had sex, and we are in regret. What next? How to reconcile?

– Come before God, repent. Turn Around. Total Breakoff. Don’t do it again. An act of sexual intercourse is a soul tie. There’s no such thing as a ‘One night stand’.

– For girls, there’s a second chance virginity. To be holy for marriage.

– Don’t feel condemned (The devil tells us we are not good enough). Talk to leaders and mentors. If you don’t have any, find one. Good spiritual mentors.

– God gives second chances.

Is it a sin to create babies without sexual intercourse? Sperm injection.

– Bringing babies into the world is a serious matter. Life. Soul. Not good. It is a selfish act. Better to just adopt a child.

Making out, heavy petting. Sin?

– Yes. As long as we look at a girl lustfully, it is a sin. There is no way we can make out and do heavy petting with a girl without imagining things or arousing ourselves.

Masturbation?

– Sin. The sin is in what you think. To masturbate, we have to think of the action. That is sin. And we have to think of doing it with someone. That is also sin. Bible says “if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away.” And “if your hand—even your stronger hand—causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.” Why did it talk about the hand? Because he was referring to masturbation.

If I masturbate, am I still a virgin? What is a virgin?

– Definition of a virgin? For guys it doesn’t matter.

– Our priority. Who do we hurt when we masturbate? God or wife? or both?

Oral Sex?

– Wrong.

Wet Dreams?

– We can’t control our dreams. But we have to check ourselves. We are visual beings. Where did the visual ideas come from? Only if we’ve seen or imagined things, then we will dream it.

What is the physical problems with sex before marriage?

– Many times we hear that oh it’s okay to have sex since we will be getting married anyways. But there is NO GUARANTEE. Even the night before the wedding, you’re still not married yet. One of you can still run off or cheat on you.

– We violate a person.

– Condom safe sex is a myth.

– STDs. Herpes, HPV, AIDS. Some through touch, some through fluids, some through blood.

– Oral sex CAN transfer STDs.

Homosexuals. “I’m gay but I don’t practice it”. Do gays go to heaven? How to encourage a gay friend to change?

– No gays do not go to heaven. But God can forgive sins if repentant.

– These people usually have an absent father or father figure in their lives.

– Definition of gay: in an intimate relationship with someone of the same sex. Even if no intercourse.

– Accept gays as friend. DO NOT CONDEMN THEM. Gay has the same weight of sin as any sin, even stealing or lying. He is as much a sinner as you. Don’t condemn. If you cant be patient with them, DON’T try to help them with their problem. They need extra care and patience.

– If you are gay? God did not make you that way. It is a psychological problem and can be cured.

How to deny the thoughts? HOW TO STOP?!?!?!

– Two possibilities: 1. Supernatural power of God; a miracle! 2. Work super hard.

– “Bounce your eyes” The eyes will automatically detect a girl and bounce towards her. But you have to bounce it away right after that.

– Stop feeding the SUMO inside. We are fighting against a supernatural Sumo wrestler who is bigger and stronger than us. Every time we go head to head against it, we will lose. Instead, we need to starve it. Stop feeding the Sumo Wrestler the visual and the imagination it needs to grow. Slowly slowly, one day we will beat him.
