And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
Watched San Andreas. I gritted my teeth the whole time. It was really exciting. Not much of a story or plot. But you can’t really expect much. Except destruction and really lucky people being alive.
So, if we really took a step back. A really huge step back. We can’t really determine our destiny can we? It all boils down to if God has chosen us.
All we can decide is what our response will be.
Little boy, she’s way out of your league.
One of my all time favourite bands is called Icon For Hire. Their latest album ‘Icon For Hire’ is seriously awesome. You all need to go listen and buy their music. Fix Me is one of my favourite songs in that album.
So, I have a simple idea of what the beginning of Monsters Inc. 3 could look like. Dear Pixar, do pick my idea haha! I love Pixar!
Wait….. Monsters Inc. 2 is Monsters University right? So this would be Monsters Inc. 3 right? ANYWHO…
Remember how Monsters Inc. ended with monsters coming out of the closet and bringing joy to kids to power up their monster city? So Monsters Inc. 3 could start 30 years down the road where stories of monsters coming out of closets or doors or from under the bed… were just stories. Kids slept through the night without being woken up.
Before bed, parents will tell stories of how when they were little, monsters will come out from the closet to make friends with children and always found ways to make them happy. There were even story books about it. But none of the kids these days ever experience it. It was one of those myths.
One particular parent told the greatest stories of her adventures with these monsters. Her real name didn’t rhyme with Boo. She had twins. One boy and one girl, and they loved her stories. She could make it sound so fantastical and real, and the twins were always so drawn into it, they believed it more than mom did. Mom was making up the stories from dreams and daydreams she had in the past. She was a creative kid. But the twins believed in this magical world. They didn’t think mom was just dreaming when she was little. Maybe it was the fact that her stories made sense from one another. Or maybe the they just really really hoped all the stories were real.
One night, the twins heard a shuffling of feet from their closet. They were overjoyed, and pinched each other to make sure it wasn’t a dream. Then the shuffling noise stopped. It was going to jump out! But after a whole minute of anticipation, nothing came through the doors of that closet. They looked at each other. Something was wrong. They had to check it out.
As the twins neared the closet, hand in hand, they heard heard a tiny sobbing. Curious. They opened the closet door and saw a kid monster that looked like a spotted blue ball of fur with big wet eyes trying to hide from them. Slowly, of course, the kid monster starts to warm up to them and they find out that they are about the same age. The three of them become friends and start to share stories and the twins find out about why monsters stop coming to make children happy: The monster world was in chaos.
Okay, so that’s my idea. I could also imagine a dark world with no electricity. Monsters arguing and fighting and stealing from each other. Everyone unhappy with each other and no one wanted to help their neighbour. These three kids want help to make things better. So, they had an idea that if electricity came back, people would start having a hope that things may get better. And the kid monster suddenly remembered that his dad used to work here at Monsters Inc. to power up the world. He would help. Right?
Okay, that’s all I thought of. If you can think of how it could continue from here, do leave a comment below so everyone can see.
Welcome to the show! So I have a friend (Hi Edmond) who tagged me in a 15 FILMS THAT ALWAYS STAY WITH YOU tag… type thingy (What are these officially called anyways? Tags?). And because I was very entertained with his ‘answers’, I shall suffer his request but do something totally different altogether. Haha. I shall do a few mini-descriptions of 8 GOOD things (hey, this is starting to sound like another one of those tag things going around lately) in my life, but on totally different aspects. Here goes.
A Good Movie.
Because Edmond got me going for this blog post, I shall talk about a movie first. A good movie that I’ve watched recently is also the most recent movie I’ve watched which is also the movie I just watched last night which is the movie called Source Code. And wow I gotta say, it was mind-blowing. I’m actually not easily impressed when it comes to movies. In fact, if I expect a movie to be lower than my taste, I will just make myself enjoy a movie for the sake of enjoying a movie (That’s what I watched that movie for in the first place right?), I mean, for entertainment sake stop complaining. This movie, however, had high ratings, and had a great opening scene. So, naturally, I was hoping it was good. It blew my mind.
A Good Joke.
I love a good joke. In fact, it’s been a part of my life since I was very little. My dad loved to make me, my siblings, and my friends laugh. I loved laughing and seeing people laugh. So I learned the art and started doing it in kindy. Anyways. Here’s a good joke copied unrightedly by my friend Justin (he’s been mentioned before on this blog). “Death is not something to be taken lightly, unless it is suffocation by Helium. That is a noble death.” He likes puns. Especially if it tests your ‘nerdiness’ (or more properly known as ‘general knowledge’), I think. Or maybe he just likes smart puns. I’m not really into puns in particular. But this was a good pun.
A Good Sport.
Hello. My name is Aaron. I come from Malaysia. My favorite favourite sport is Ultimate Frisbee. I like Ultimate Frisbee because it is fun and interesting and I get to count to ten! But, I did not play it recently. Yesterday Yesternight, I played Badminton. It was good. Good for my soul body. It made me sweat. It flexed my tensed muscles. Today, I woke up feeling refreshed.
A Good Girl.
Ariana Grande. Is not good. I used to like her a lot. Not anymore. What shall I do with my life now??
A Good Habit.
Thanks Athena, for reminding me about saving money. I truly believe in saving money. It’s a good habit. I’m totally not doing it. But, it’s good. Save money please.
A Good Music.
Lots of people can’t believe that there are good Christian music out there. Especially the younger ones who only listen to Hitz.fm (Not that I hate this radio station. I just have a very low opinion of them). I had one teen listen to a Rap song by Lecrae in my car once, and he was soooo convinced that he heard a cuss word in there somewhere haha! Let me clarify some things with all of you. THERE ARE GREAT CHRISTIAN ARTISTS OUT THERE. WAY BETTER MUSIC THAN THE ‘HITS’ THEY ARE SHOVING IN YOUR FACE. To be honest, every time you hear the word ‘HIT’ on the radio, on MTV, or on the news, replace that word with the words ‘most expensively marketed’.
A Good Work.
What’s worth fighting for? I’d say: opportunity. This year, my youth group (yes, church youth group) has been raising funds for less fortunate Native teens to be flown to West Malaysia to attend a nationwide camp, called Teenstreet. So we’re paying for their camp fees and their air fare. That’s not a small amount to raise by teenagers. But God is good, and His hand is very obviously moving among the Native Christians in Sabah. So we’re just going with the Flow. We have enough now to fully sponsor 16 teens! Wow. That’s too crazy. I can’t even raise funds for myself. This is a good work worth working on.
A Good Sleep.
I shall go to sleep soon. ‘Soon’, as in after I’ve caught up with some X-men comics and finished a level or two on the Logic Games app. I’m currently reading the MARVEL – THE END alternate endings series. So far, I’ve finished The Hulk, Spider-Girl, Iron Man, The Punisher, Fantastic Four, and Wolverine ‘endings.’ Mostly are tragic (as in death) and sad. This X-Men ‘ending’ I’m catching up on now is really going on a deep downward spiral very quickly. On another tone note, if you are using a Nokia Phone or an Apple device, download Logic Games. It’s fun… in a very nerdy geeky stressful way. The puzzle set I’m currently on is called Disconnect Four. It’s the opposite of Connect Four. Haha, that’s all there is to say about it. Okay, time to “sleep.”
