New Highlight Colour Category!

As of today I have about three categories of highlights for my bible reading.

First category is things I want to remember. Colours are pink, yellow, and cyan (esp if things get ‘interesting’).

Second category are the very important things I want to remember. Colours are light pink and light yellow. As you can probably imagine, these work well alongside my first category highlights, especially in a long passage with multiple verses. I will usually highlight the passage that I want to remember in pink, and then within the passage there would usually be one or two verses that are the key points or super important, I would highlight those light pink. So that there would be contrast.

Third category will be in grey for warnings I want to remember. Especially if they are directed at me.

So today I have created a new fourth category based on what I learned last week in online bible school. It’s a light green highlight for verses that are God’s ‘intended purpose for men’. We call it the Sabbath Rest… I think… I’m still learning haha. The Garden of Eden will be my imagery for this highlight category. God’s plan was no death, no sickness, and we live in true abundance, and connection to God. The three main points for the Sabbath Rest is peace with one another, peace with the earth, and peace with God. I’m thinking to keep it less for who God wants me to be today/tomorrow, and more for God’s ultimate goal for us in eternity. A very after-death (Real Life) kind of highlight. The purpose is to train myself to have a heavenly perspective.

Ever Wonder What A Spring Of Water Is?

A spring is a water resource formed when the side of a hill, a valley bottom or other excavation intersects a flowing body of groundwater at or below the local water table, below which the subsurface material is saturated with water. A spring is the result of an aquifer being filled to the point that the water overflows onto the land surface. They range in size from intermittent seeps, which flow only after much rain, to huge pools flowing hundreds of millions of gallons daily.

Still other springs are the result of pressure from an underground source in the earth, in the form of volcanic activity. The result can be water at elevated temperature such as a hot spring.

Springs are often classified by the volume of the water they discharge. The largest springs are called “first-magnitude”, defined as springs that discharge water at a rate of at least 2800 liters or 100 cubic feet (2.8 m³) of water per second.

Fontaine de Vaucluse or Spring of Vaucluse in France discharges about 470 million US gallons (1,800,000 m³) of water per day at a rate of 727 cubic feet (21 m³) per second.

Wow. This Spring of Vaucluse makes “never thirst” sound very possible indeed.

This Month Just Marched Right In

Man how time really flies.

I’ve got a few projects going on. Thank God for projects. Hope at least one of it makes me rich.

Very soon, I’ll be married.

Ephesians 5:1-20

Living in the Light

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. ² Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

³ Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. ⁴ Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. ⁵ You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

⁶ Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. ⁷ Don’t participate in the things these people do. ⁸ For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! ⁹ For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.

¹⁰ Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. ¹¹ Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. ¹² It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. ¹³ But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, ¹⁴ for the light makes everything visible. Living by the Spirit’s Power

¹⁵ So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.¹⁶ Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. ¹⁷ Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. ¹⁸ Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,¹⁹ singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. ²⁰ And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A Call to Return to the Lord

“In the future, when you experience all these blessings and curses I have listed for you, and when you are living among the nations to which the Lordyour God has exiled you, take to heart all these instructions. ² If at that time you and your children return to the Lord your God, and if you obey with all your heart and all your soul all the commands I have given you today, ³ then theLord your God will restore your fortunes. He will have mercy on you and gather you back from all the nations where he has scattered you. ⁴ Even though you are banished to the ends of the earth, the Lord your God will gather you from there and bring you back again. ⁵ The Lord your God will return you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will possess that land again. Then he will make you even more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors!

⁶ “The Lord your God will change your heart and the hearts of all your descendants, so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live! ⁷ The Lord your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate and persecute you. ⁸ Then you will again obey the Lord and keep all his commands that I am giving you today.

⁹ “The Lord your God will then make you successful in everything you do. He will give you many children and numerous livestock, and he will cause your fields to produce abundant harvests, for the Lord will again delight in being good to you as he was to your ancestors. ¹⁰ The Lord your God will delight in you if you obey his voice and keep the commands and decrees written in this Book of Instruction, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul.

The Choice of Life or Death

¹¹ “This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you, and it is not beyond your reach. ¹² It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ ¹³ It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’ ¹⁴ No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it.

¹⁵ “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. ¹⁶ For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.

¹⁷ “But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen, and if you are drawn away to serve and worship other gods, ¹⁸ then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live a long, good life in the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy.

¹⁹ “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! ²⁰ You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Thanksgiving And Prayer for Malaysia

Paul has lots of good examples of prayer. So I’ll be using certain words in a blessing he wrote to the church of Colossae for my prayer for Malaysia. Colossians 1:3-14

God, I thank you that the church has started a movement to pray for Malaysia. That’s pretty cool. Intercessors covering this beloved country in prayer 24/7. Lord, I thank You for the confidence we can have, that we have a special place just for us in heaven and in eternal fellowship with You. No matter what, Your love and grace and mercy and word will reign.

I thank You that Your grace and good news is being spread through our local church to the world! That Malaysians can be part of praising You boasting of You to the world. I pray that the word of truth set people free and bear fruit by changing lives. Let Your word be heard and understood. Let there be a renewing of the mind so that transformation may take place in the lives of all Malaysians. And then to all the world.

Lord, please give all Malaysians complete knowledge of Your will. Open our eyes and ears to Your spiritual wisdom and understanding. Also, close connection to evil spirits in this land. May the way we live honor and please You. May our lives produce every kind of good fruit. Because all good fruit come from You. I pray that all Malaysians grow in You more and more each day. That each of us will grow into strong, healthy, fruitful trees.

Dear God, strengthen us through Your glory and power, so that we may have patience and endure what is to come. Teach us to be ever thankful, so that we may be filled with joy! Thank You that You enabled each of us, no matter who we are, to live pure and holy lives, so that we can share in the inheritance that belongs to all Your children. Because You sent Your son to die for each and every one of us. You sent Jesus, who has purchased us from all darkness and shame, forgave us of our sins, and transferred us into His Kingdom.

Thank You Lord for Malaysia. Though we need a lot more work and refining before we get anywhere close to a perfect country, Lord, do not forsake us. Guide us, hold us, mold us. And in the end, may Your Glory SHINE without fail from Malaysia. May we be a sweet incense and a pleasing music to You.

Watched San Andreas. I gritted my teeth the whole time. It was really exciting. Not much of a story or plot. But you can’t really expect much. Except destruction and really lucky people being alive.

So, if we really took a step back. A really huge step back. We can’t really determine our destiny can we? It all boils down to if God has chosen us.

All we can decide is what our response will be.

Piled High

Ezra 9:6

O my God, I am utterly ashamed; I blush to lift up my face to you. For our sins are piled higher than our heads, and our guilt has reached to the heavens.

Oh God. Can I even live a day without sin? My lusts, my anger, my pride, my view on people, my thoughts, my actions, my idle words, my attitudes, my disobedience, my selfishness, my unbelief. Even on the days I ask for forgiveness, I can tumble back into sin so easily.

I’m so ashamed. I’m sorry, God. I’m trying.

Thank You that every day I’m given breath which is my second chance.

Sexual Immorality

It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;  that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honourable

1 Thessalonians 4:3-4
